Poeticisms of a Košice based author, Štefan Lazorišák (one of the protagonist of the November ’89 Velvet revolution in Košice), tied to the city space, its streets and its life. The publication’s design is inspired by these associations, using the expressive font Zulice (From the Street), by Zuzana Wohlfahrt Senteliková. The font was created in 2006, by digitalizing authentic fragments from the Komenského Street in Košice and is inspired by the ever-changing visual poetry of the city. In contrast, the book is set in a modest grotesque font Normatica, which was inspired by shop window displays from the period of normalisation in Czechoslovakia (1970s and 1980s). The authenticity of the visual design is supported by using a fragment of a pavement from Košice, used for the endpaper.
